Are you tired of non-effective IEPs?

Are you tired of the administrative shuffle?

Are you tired of delayed or no services for our developmentally disabled children?

Are you just plain feed-up with all the bureaucracy in special education?

WE ARE!

YES, we would like to see more accountability on behalf of our ISDs (Intermediate School District) and locals. Most of our children with developmental disabilities are lost in the shuffle and their educational needs are grossly overlooked. Additionally, these special education programs are typically "PROGRAM and DIRECTOR" driven rather than "NEEDS and ABILITIES."

Our Mission at http://www.specialedvoucher.com is to start a national champaign to encourage parents, caregivers and advocates of children with special needs to write their State Senator and State Representative for the specific purpose of developing a new law that would provide families a "needs and abilities" choice. This opportunity to choose how to use our state's funding for special education programs would be the most appropriate way to assist and serve families of such diverse educational challenges.

We are proposing a 'SPECIAL EDUCATION VOUCHER' in Michigan (and your state) to be considered, giving all parents of disabled children the right to use special education funds to directly suit the needs of their own child. This would be a cost effective way toward appropriate service. The funding should follow the child in any district or county to suit the students' needs appropriately.

YES, we would like a "CHOICE" in our children's education, as parents, caregivers and advocates, thus, creating more accountability for all.

At http://www.specialedvoucher.com we are open to all states and welcome a collaborative effort from other assembled groups on this national champaign for choice education.
