Valve should work on making their steam platform, and all the games that run on it, compatible with linux. Linux is becoming more and more popular in the home desktop market. More and more companies are making steps to make linux more user friendly and accessible including major companies like dell which now offers computers that come with ubuntu pre-installed on them. So I think that game companies like Valve should take a steps towards making linux compatible games.

- With WebKit being used for the new Steam client, porting it to Linux should be a breeze. The OpenGL framework for source games has already been established while creating the Mac ports, so it shouldn't be difficult to port the source games too :)

- probably programming in Linux is easier than in Windows or Mac. Even more, programming for Linux will make sure it will run in Windows or Mac with little or no modifications.

- I have been a gamer for the past 12+ years, starting off with the original Half-Life. I have also been using linux primarily for the past 5+ years. As a long time supporter of both valve/steam and linux, I would LOVE to see a native linux client, this is just what the linux community needs to become a viable platform for gaming.

- I'd really love to see VALVe go through with a Linux Steam client, they've done it for mac so why can't they do it for Linux? All I care about is CSS, HL2, Portal, TF2 etc ported, we don't need every single game released on Linux, we just need something good!

- It's time for Steam to come to GNU/Linux. It's just not fair porting it only to mac, I'm sure porting to linux isn't even hard
