Valve should work on making their steam platform, and all the games that run on it, compatible with linux. Linux is becoming more and more popular in the home desktop market. More and more companies are making steps to make linux more user friendly and accessible including major companies like dell which now offers computers that come with ubuntu pre-installed on them. So I think that game companies like Valve should take a steps towards making linux compatible games.

- I was looking forward to it when the rumor went around that Steam was coming for Linux, I started putting money aside to buy a bunch of games from it. Terrible shame. :( I won't buy Windows games.

- It's a great step towards Gaming on Linux. Nobody should be forced to acquire Windows OS just to be able to play the games they bought.

- Please, Valve, do it for the thousands of us who are simply tired of dual-booting for gaming reasons. I don't care if other developers don't give us a Linux version of their game... your game library is a sufficient enough start. I love the Left 4 Dead and Half-Life series, as well as ton of others. Some games you have (And Yet It Moves, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, etc.) already have Linux versions, but without a Linux-native Steam client we will never have a neat and efficient way of having our games in one place. Please, please, please port Steam to Linux. You've done it with Mac. Be the fore-runners you guys have always been and get Steam to Linux. :)

- Games are the ONLY reason I run Windows on this machine. I'll NOT be upgrading to Windows 7, so when XP becomes incompatible, you'll lose me as a customer if Linux support isn't up and running.

- Have it run Windows games through Wine so the Steam client can be released sooner, we can wait for native games a little longer.
