We want to continue with this group and throw our full support towards its endeavors of making theatre available to EVERY child, rather than to children who simply "get" the audition.

  • The Stage Door Conservatory program is well respected and packs the house (especially the On Broadway program). I have attended programs for many groups at the Julia Morgan Theater since 1979, and have enjoyed both professional and amateur shows. I encourage you to continue allowing SDC to have their children's programs in the theater. The amazing SDC programs offer children, especially young girls and women, the opportunity to learn new skills and stretch themselves in many ways. Please do whatever you can to allow SDC to continue their work using the Julia Morgan as their performance venue.

  • The Julia Morgan Theater is a wonderful community asset. There was a time, not so long ago, when it was a very under-utilized asset. The alliance with Stage Door has always been beneficial for Stage Door, giving us a terrific place to put on our shows, but it was also very beneficial for the Julia Morgan, bringing the theater to the attention of many who were unaware of its splendors. Now the Julia Morgan is on firmer footing, but it's not the time to forget the institutions that helped put it in this position.

As dedicated members of the Stagedoor Conservatory for each of my children, we encourage you to please recondsider your decision to change the lease to Stagedoor Conservatory. I fear it will have a severe detrimental effect on the reputation of the Julia Morgan theater.

  • In my experience, this has been a great program. My daughter and I have attended Stagedoor's performances long before she became a participant. We have always enjoyed the quality of the plays and the performance space clearly enhances the overall experience. The sense of community and professionalism that this program instills in the kids should not be underestimated. The Julia Morgan theater is big part of their identity and it would be a huge blow to this successful program if they were not able to perform there anymore. Please reconsider.

This organization has made children of all ages enjoy the wonders of theatre at the same time helps them boost their confidence, learn teamwork and develop lasting friendships. These kids love the theatre. please do not take this away from them!!!!

They deserve to keep their spot at the Julie Morgarn Theater that they have faithfully held so long. Is this simply a dollars and sense issue with the theater board? I hope not.
