We, the listeners of Hot 97 (WQHT) and family/friends/fans of Aaliyah Haughton, were outraged when morning show host Star made fun of the death of Aaliyah on August 27th 2001. Star has done horrible things in the past but this is the one that topped them all. Someone that would show total disrespect to the point of making fun of a person's death on the air for thousands of listeners to hear does not need to be on radio. Can you imagine the pain and heartbreak that the listeners felt when Star made a mockery of Aaliyah's death? Sure you didn't, because you were so worried about how many ratings you were going to get that day. Therefore, we are asking that you dismiss Star of his duties on Hot 97 (WQHT). We are also outraged at the fact there was no disciplinary action was taken. We now see that you are in it for the ratings and don't really care about what is said on your radio station and don't care about your listeners. We are here to say that such disrespect is NOT tolerated. If no action is taken after this petition is presented to you, this will result in a total boycott of Hot 97 (WQHT), by the listeners as well as the artists.

    • It was definitely undignified and unprofessional to make a parody of such a horrible death. I have always supported Star & Buck in their right to hate and have fun but, this went well beyond the mark.

    • Where is the professionalism here? He really should have been fired on the spot... not just told to apologize. It's too late for that.

    • Star is a miserable asshole. He needs to be checked. His jokes are sometimes brutally funny but not this one. I'm not the one to fuck with anyone's job, but dude needs to be punished. And for the record. No one cares about JENLO and her saying "nigga" so that analogy that Star made was assinine as hell!

    • I think it was inhumane and I feel his apology was that it offended not that he was sorry for doing it. With that said I feel he should be removed simply because he lacks a heart!

    • Star should be ashamed and no amount of apology will take back what he said and did. I dont know if anyone found that funny but him. Aaliyah was no only a jewel in our eyes, but she was someone's child, sister, granddaughter, niece etc. I hope Star asks the Lord for forgiveness.
