We, the listeners of Hot 97 (WQHT) and family/friends/fans of Aaliyah Haughton, were outraged when morning show host Star made fun of the death of Aaliyah on August 27th 2001. Star has done horrible things in the past but this is the one that topped them all. Someone that would show total disrespect to the point of making fun of a person's death on the air for thousands of listeners to hear does not need to be on radio. Can you imagine the pain and heartbreak that the listeners felt when Star made a mockery of Aaliyah's death? Sure you didn't, because you were so worried about how many ratings you were going to get that day. Therefore, we are asking that you dismiss Star of his duties on Hot 97 (WQHT). We are also outraged at the fact there was no disciplinary action was taken. We now see that you are in it for the ratings and don't really care about what is said on your radio station and don't care about your listeners. We are here to say that such disrespect is NOT tolerated. If no action is taken after this petition is presented to you, this will result in a total boycott of Hot 97 (WQHT), by the listeners as well as the artists.

- Freedom of speech still comes with responsibility, the ability to responsibly interact with a wide range of listeners, to serve the HIGHEST Good of all concerned. There is always room for forgiveness, as well.

- I never met a man that was so sicken and empty-headed than he is. A person dies and all he can do is poke fun at it. I dont care if that is the way he is, but there are certain things in life you dont laugh at and this is one of themYou are going down STAR!!!!!

- Star and buck wild should not be taken off the radio. I listen to them every morning. What he did should not have been done, but at the moment it was funny. I know Star has no hatred towards her, and the author of this petition must be one of meany that doesn't like his show. I agree that he should apoligize, and he too has said that he would make a public apoligy. People should stop blowing things out of paportion.

- His consistency in being disrespectful and completely degrating of women should no longer be tolerated. How are any advances supposed to be made when such comments are broadcast to thousands of listeners on a daily basis? His mockery of this tragedy only shows how ignorant of a man he truly is. This man has no right to be on the radio; corrupting the minds of so many of our youth whom we continue to struggle to make positive models of society.

- I did not hear the horrible comment as I already know that coming from him it was, but I heard him trying to apologize this morning. There isn't any apology that he could give that would make up for what I heard was done. Aaliyah is the artist that I felt I could relate to because I am also 22 yrs old. My sister knows how much I loved her music and the way she carried herself. Every since I got the call on Sunday morning I have been in disbelief and total shock. I lost my dad suddenly in 5/01 of 1996 the month I graduated from high school so I can relate to the death of a loved one. We can not let the world continue to think that this type of behavior on the radio is acceptable. R.I.P Aaliyah. God Bless the Haughton Family.

- I think that it is an utter shame and discrase that someone would even think about making fun of Aliyah's (or anyone for that matter) death of the radio. I am a huge Aliyah fan and was crushed by her passing and to hear that someone is making fun of it makes me sick, I travel very frequently and listen to WQHT when in NY, and I can assure you that if Star is not removed from the statino I will never listen to the station again, there is no excuse for Star's actions. To add to it I find it even worse that he would compare it to J-Lo and her actions they are not even in the same ball park

- Aaliyah was a young woman who was just beginning to blossom in her career when this tragedy took her precious life. So much can and will be written about her talent, beauty, charm and grace, but what most will say indefinately is that Aaliyah was a sweet young woman. Her death opened old wounds of 2pac and Biggies death of only 5 years previous. Her young fans and older admirers have been truly touched by such an angelic person like Aaliyah. She will be missed dearly. For someone to make fun of any death, not just Aaliyah's, shows not only a pathological need for attention, but is an indication of deep spiritual resolve. Star was wrong to make fun of this tragedy and it is recommended that he be relieved of his duties with his employer, Hot 97 (WQHT) effective immediately!

- Well, I do listen to hot 97 but I am more of a listener in the evenings then in the mornings, which obviously is a better time to listen because i don't choose to listen to all the hate that you guys are promoting in the mornings.Truthfully i think that you guys made a terrible mistake when you put Starr on the radio in the mornings, that's not the type of shit little kids or any respectable adults should have to hear before starting there day.Starr is very disrespectful and he was way out of line and didn't show any respect for AAliyah's family, friends and her fans. When will you guys learn how to pick a good Host for your morning show, you already fired the best crew from Wendy, to Ed and Dre, Who ever told you Starr was your best pick needs to be fired also. That's why people listen to 98.7 and WBLS more than Hot 97 hahahahaha DUMMIES.You need to focus on a new game plan because this hate shit has to go and if you must keep the hate going, well put his stupid ass on Sundays from 3am-3:30 a 1/2 is enough.
