Dear sir or madam of the Canadian Government,
At the end of march 2009, the annual horrible seal hunt in Canada started again. We, citizens of the world, find these horrible and cruel killings unacceptable. It is unacceptable, that babyseals (most of the seals aren't older than 2 to 3 weeks) are slaughtered just for their fur. The seals are brutally murdered. They are clubbed, shot, stabbed or beaten to death. Most of the seals are even skinned alive! This is unacceptable and this is not human.
The Canadian people are against the seal hunt, Europe is against the seal hunt, America is against the seal hunt, Russia is against the seal hunt, most of the world is against the seal hunt and we are against the seal hunt. But why isn't the Canadian government against the seal hunt? Why does the Canadian government still aprove the seal hunt? We find this unacceptable!
The European Parliament will be voting for a ban on the commercial seal hunt in the coming weeks and by the looks of it, there will be a European ban. In the beginning of march the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin banned the Russian seal hunt. Canada should be the next one to ban the seal hunt. Especially since the most seals are murdered in Canada.
I, as a citizen of the world ask you to stop the murdering and stop the seal hunt right now!
