    • My father was a WWII veteran serving during the Battle of the Bulge. He had taps played at his funeral in 1999 and I would like this deserved tradition continue for all veterans.

    • As a retired military wife, I am all for keeping taps alive with live people representing that lost loved one and their families !! They gave the ultimate sacifice! The least we can do is give them the same respect and not just an imitation. The Commander and Chief of the Military did not send an imitation soldier did they? Then an imitation Taps should not be allowed!!

    • As a member of a military family I would be horrified by the disrespect shown using a recorded taps performance. This shows absolutely no respect to the memory of the veteran or the family of the veteran.

    • I think when a live bugler is available they should always be used before and artificial method. I feel this shows more respect to the family of the fallen member of the military community.

    • There is NO dignity in using digital taps when you have a live bugler. Stolen dignity does not honor our Brothers and Sisters!

    • I as the German Representative of Bugles Across America couldnĀ“t understandt why you prefer a faked Bugle. You steel Dignity and Honor from those who fought so bravely for your country.

    • The Directive states that a 'real' bugler is preferred over a recording. Ms. Davis has been a real asset to honoring veterans. She a volunteer bugler with Bugles Across America. We are 7,000 strong and have served veterans families for 10 years. Edward F. Bilger, Deputy Executive Director, Bugles Across America NFP

    • As a soldier in the most digitally enabled CAV squadron (2-14 Cav, 1st Bde SBCT, 25thID) our tradition as Cavalry men still reigned supreme. Doing a spur ride rucking all day and night being treated as a private by spur holders was the most significant piece of training and Esprit de Corps that gave us the most success in battle in Iraq. Tradition in the military should never take a back seat to new technology.
