The Body Shop, a personal care products retail chain, gave a quarter of its $300,000 "Human Rights Award 2002" prize money (i.e. $75,000) to a group called The National Committee for the Defence of the Rights of the Internally Displaced (NCDRID), which advocates, among other things, the "right to return" of all "Palestinian refugees" to Israel.

NCDRID was nominated for its award by BADIL, an organization that, among other things, helps promote PLO terrorism (the "Intifada") against Israel.

When you buy from The Body Shop you are helping to promote the PLO and its goals.

CONSEQUENTLY:

We, the undersigned, disapprove of The Body Shop's award to The National Committee for the Defence of the Rights of the Internally Displaced which advocates a "right to return" for all "Palestinian refugees". We consider this group's goals to be synonymous with the PLO attempt to destroy Israel.

We are upset that The Body Shop has used a part of our purchases to reward this group.

We therefore commit that we will not purchase any more products at The Body Shop until The Body Shop

1. Withdraws this award, and disavows a Palestinian "right to return" and the PLO and its goals;

2. Apologizes to the many millions of supporters of Israel worldwide that it has offended;

3. Makes a substantial gift to Israeli victims of PLO terrorism.

However, as a result of your statement supporting palestinian terrrorist goals, I will no longer buy any of your products, and furthemore, I will encourage everyone I know to boycott your store.   • 900,000 Jews were expelled from Arab countries between 1948 and 1951 and their assets seized by the Arab governments. 650,000 of them settled in Israel. What about their human rights? They certainly don't want to return to the respective Arab countries where they would be murdered. If you really care about human rights you disregard what is written in the newspapers and consult the archives at the United Nations.

  • The Jewish refugees from Arab countries were funded by Israel without the help of the Body Shop or any other international community, Israel has absolutely no obligation to help those whose existence is the result of the Arab countries not having helped their own citizens and the result of the same war that created refugees on both sides of roughly the same number. Yes, please donate to us to fund our security against terrorism and the murder of 10 times more innocent civilians than those that wish to destroy us, your 'refugees'.
