We do hereby petition the Parliament of Canada, to declare the fans of the Colbert Report a nation (hereafter referred to as "the Colbert Nation"), in a united Canada.

    • i have been calling for recognition of this historic and social reality from the beginning. i led on this issue and am NOT afraid to take bold positions. i think we need to officialize this in the constitution, we also need to recognize the territorial integrity of the colbert nation; otherwise, the colbert nation may not feel respected by canadians. some candidates think this is not a race of ideas; they're wrong and i'm right. my ideas are so much better than everyone elses and if you don't agree with them, its because you don't understand the issues. oh, btw, did i mention that i am pierre elliot trudeau reincarnated.

    • If "Colbert Nation" is a nation, than why not recognize Denis Miller or John Stewart as a nation within a united Canada? Aren't we, in a sense, just balkanizing political humour in our country. Where does Harper's press gallery "McCullum act" fit into the humour equation of our nation. Is it not a nation?
