Simply put, this is a petition for a television channel devoted to tennis. I understand that there are a lot of tennis fans that are upset and irritated by the lack of coverage this sport receives. Tennis matches are constantly played, and many fans do not get to see the majority of them, unlike football, basketball, baseball, and hockey fans, who can see the majority of matches/games on all sports channels.
I have already emailed a major U.S. sports TV channel, complaining about tennis matches being cut off, not entirely aired, and, in the rare chance that a complete match is aired, it is during an unwatchable time. During the Australian Open, the mens semi-finals were aired at one oclock in the morning! I am very tired of not getting to watch the sport I love.
Golf has its own TV channel. Football, basketball, hockey, etc. are aired all the time. It is time for us tennis fans to do something about the bias in broadcasting. Tennis is a sport that has been around for a long time, and it, along with the tennis players, does not get the coverage and attention that it rightly deserves. There are already talks about a Tennis Channel, so please, sign this petition, and lets make it happen.
