More Info at:
As we all know , The Pirate Bay or as some of us know it as TPB a Swedish site and one of the most famous and popular torrent websites is currently under trial. We need to help petition to help them in case they are sentenced to jail time. The petition is dedicated to justifying their actions and the fact that they simply give you the source of where you can download the file and not actually host the content.

- This is a bogus trial. Anti-piracy only hurts sales when people find out about the companies who throw people in jail for spreading info. I never suport companies who take such actions. There are other ways then to enslave another human over money, which in it self is illegal in many countries as official currency. All Fiat Currency is Debt. Debt is servitute. Slavery is inhumane.

- Downloading doesn't damage the artists and barely damages the production companies, support the people not the corporate profits!

- I don't think this is even going far enough. Intellectual property rights should be abolished as they directly conflict with physical property rights.

- Most of the reports I've seen on TPB have been extremely biased, and none have clarified the fact that TPB actually do not host the content. What people have to realise is that The Pirate Bay do not have any illegal material on their site whatsoever, they merely provide links to the material. What people also have to realise is that Google also provide links to illegal material, but who's going to shut them down? Maybe if the large corporations started charging fairer prices things would get a little bit better the entertainment industries, because currently, the prices are horrendous. It goes round in circles though; the higher the prices the industries set, then the more people are going to pirate. And the more people who pirate, the more money the industries are going to lose so they need to boost their prices. But judging from the fact that the music industries and film industries generate billions of profit each year, it is in the best interests of the general public to pirate because they are being robbed by the big corporations such as Odeon who charge atrocious prices for their cinema tickets (7.20 per adult + 5 for popcorn and drinks in my local Odeon, that's A LOT of money when taking into account the fact that people can get the film for free and the popcorn and drinks for 2 at the most...) So I must conclude from this: piracy FTW
