Increase State of Ohio Funding for Public Transit
State of Ohio funding for public transit has been reduced by 75\% since 2001. While the typical state in the nation provides 23\% of the funding needed for the transit systems in their state, Ohio provides less than 3\%. While the citizens in Ohio have repeatedly stated that a more comprehensive public transit network is needed just to meet their basic needs to get to jobs, school and medical appointments, transit funding cuts have forced many transit systems to reduce critically needed transit service and to raise fares. This petition urges the State of Ohio to identify a reliable, adequate and dedicated funding source for public transit, and to identify an immediate source of emergency funds to preserve existing services.

- Cutting the buses is putting a lot of people that pay on a regular basis in a very bad way for transportation. There are a lot of us that catch the bus to get to school and work. The buses are alot better than every one trying to get on the expressway at the same time, the buses allow for the traffic to flow better. Think about it 50 people paying for the bus or 50 reckless drivers speeding on the expressway rushing to work or school. The bus that I catch is the 39 at 5:35 or 6:15 am then 2:47 pm. It is said that it will only run during rush hour, what is considered rush hour?? I consider the time I'm on the bus rush hour for me and I'm sure alot of people feel the same way ,those buses are always crowded. Please don't cut out theses times. Thank you

- I ride the bus as I have no car, discontinuing the #39 bus will cause me to lose my job if I can't get to work. There is no other way to get here as I work at Bratenahl Place

- I took public transportation to work for ten years. I could not have had that job without it. Please don't limit people's access to public transportation; in fact, make it a priority to increase its availability.

- Ohio could be a champion of the Midwest if it invests in public transit. High speed rail is the transportation of the future. It will be more affordable and cleaner than any other method of transportation.
