Proctor's Theater in Troy, NY is under threat of demolition. New York State, under its Restore New York initiative, can provide the needed funds to stabilize and begin renovation of the 1914 theater and save it from destruction. Stabilization work would provide jobs and employ local artisans, a win-win for everyone. Monies from Restore New York should not be provided to a demolition scheme being proposed by the city of Troy. The money is welcome, but only for the restoration of this historic building.

    • Please reconsider! This reminds me of the period of "urban removal" that took place in Troy in the 60's when many architectural treasures were demolished to be replaced by the Atrium and City Hall.
