At Vaughan City Hall 2141 Major Mackenzie Drive at Keele.
Voice your opinions to prevent 632 apartments including 2- 22 storey towers holding 392 apartments, and several skinny townhouse complexes, from being developed against our wishes.
We, the undersigned feel this application of City File No. OP.08.010 and Z.08.039 by the applicant to develop 632 high density residential units in a miniscule 9 acre site, directly adjacent to our own homes is a waste of taxpayers dollars, time, and effort to keep our communities safe, enjoyable, and appreciated. We feel the applicant should re-think their plan to follow the guidelines set out in Offical Plan Ammendment #650 Vellore Village District Centre Plan which includes the Weston Road and Major Mackenzie roadways and lands directly adjacent to them, which does not support any high-rise residential uses.

- I strongly disagree with this Development. We already face big issues in this area with traffic congestion, causing concern for the safety of the residents in the area. Health care is also a serious issue to consider. We do not have a hospital to support the area. Adding this number of residents onto the system will not be manageable. This area also has issues with schools for our children. We cannot manage what we have. By adding the increase in children through a high rise you will also jeopardize the schooling for our area children. Also, high rise living dramaitcally changes the make up of an area. This is not what our area was designed for with apartments. Such a development will dramatically affect our area and the value of our homes. May I also add that 1 block east of this area a developer is also trying to get approval to build a condo building. When looking at the big picture we do have a number of serious issues that would be escalated with the addition of either application.
