    • Get some good programming other than your sci- fridays! also stop paying the writers so much for the crappy movie of the months like dinocroc, snakehead, king cobra, mansquito, sabertooth and soooo many more! it would save alot of money! you could even sell more paid programming as long as it does not interfere with your only good line-up! All of your other stuff is re-runs and crap!

    • The opening credits are just as much a part of the show as each and every one of the main characters. It's just not the same without them!

    • Didn't SCI-FI recently announce that the Stargate franchise was one of its most successful series? Why then cut time from the opening credits? Think about it...would SCI-FI themselves like it if someone cut time from advertising their own channel? I dont think so! Why change something thats been rock solid for years? I'll be interested to find out what profit SCI-FI gain from this. And lets be honest - who actually watches adverts !?...I mean actually tunes in to watch adverts? Next to nobody. Most people just skip them by going to the kitchen or talking over what has just happened in the aired show. To see how SCI-FI can in any way gain from this is beyond me.

    • OK...this move makes limited sense at best and toasts one of the better elements of the shows(particularly Atlantis). Are you TRYING to drive fans insane?

    • Stargate SG-1 is now 9 years old. It has grown and so has its fanbase. Taking the openning credits that have been there all this time, is like chopping off a vital part the show. Richard Dean Anderson will not be with us in S.9. That in itself is a giant move that shakes the show to its foundation. The fans are sticking with you because they LOVE and I LOVE SG-1, but for Sci Fi to take the step further and take away something else that is so familiar and looked for? It's crazy, I tell you! Also, taking away the openning sequence of Atlantis - a show that has hardly gotten its foot out the door, is a horrible idea! It needs to grab viewers. How can 10 seconds possibly do that for any show? I really beg of you to reconsider and keep the original opennings for both SG-1 and Atlantis. The uproar online I have heard in the past 24 hours is incredible! Your number one concern should be keeping the fans happy. They're what keeps the ratings up on these shows.

    • Please restore the credits. They help to set the tone of the episodes and link to the fondness of past episodes.

    • This is an appalling and inappropriate decision. I understand that it's revenue driven, but please, for god's sake, find another solution!

    • This is one more dumb decision in an already long line of dumb decisions made in regards to Stargate lately. Restore the credits back to the way they were and restore the show back to the way it was. Stargate SG-1 should end the way it began.

    • No. Just...no. I can understand companies wanting to make money, I can...but while I would have shelled out a pretty unreasonable amount of money to Stargate's original network just to watch it, I will NOT be purchasing from any of the advertisers whose commercials air during Stargate SG-1. Heck, I didn't even like when they took away the big giant Egyptian head, but at least then the theme remained untainted by Sci Fi's meddling. Yes, I am pissed. Does it show?

    • I thought the idea was to continue building up the interest in the show? How does mutilating the theme and opening title sequence do that? The theme tune is a major part of any show. Everyone remembers the original Star Trek theme from 40 years ago! These themes stay in people's memories and expand the longevity of a show. How can I sing along with PDL's fantastic lyrics to a 10 second intro? Thank goodness its my ringtone.

    • We love it the way it is. The theme song is as much of part of Stargate as SciFi is part of Stargate. To shorten it would not only degrade the viewing public but also the incrediable actors who bring Stargate to life.

    • Get this, guys. The theme music and opening credits are the hook that drags the fans away from whatever they happen to be doing and plonks them down in front of the T.V. to watch *your* show. No hook - no audience - no sales of merchandising. Keep the ads and lose your audience or lose the extra ads and keep the audience coming back for more. Your call.

    • Please don't short change SG1 or Atlantis opening credits. The opening theme song is a huge part of the shows. Actors deserve as much credit as the directors and producers. Thank you.

    • SciFi's action to destroy the opening theme of SG1 and Atlantis in order to sell an extra 50 seconds of advert time is ridiculous. Please allow the actors and fans the respect of a proper opening for this amazing show, even at the expense of a measley (and unneeded) 50 second advert.
