We the People of the United States of America vehemently object to the excessive force used in Stark County, Canton Ohio against Hope Steffey. This is another outlandish display of governments civil servants forcing their will upon the people of this great nation. This is an obvious violation (s) of Hope Steffey's Civil rights , and cannot be tolerated in a society where such rights are protected. We further assert that it is becoming a common occurrence to see Law Enforcement employing excessive or brutal force upon our citizenship. We cannot, and will not tolerate this appalling, and barbaric action in a civilized society.
Plainly in the United States Constitution we are to be protected from such crimes by our government. Article IV Section 4 of the Constitution charges the government with the responsibility of protecting its citizens from domestic violence. Further the Fourth Amendment states The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and persons or things to be seized. It is very clear that in this case of Hope Steffey the very government charged with the protection of her person violated her civil rights.
We the People of the United States of America demand that this be thoroughly investigated, and all participants be held accountable. The functionality of the Stark County Sheriff's department is certainly in question along with the ability of Timothy Swanson (Sheriff) to properly insure that the civil servants working under his leadership follow civil law, and local policy.
It is abundantly clear that Law Enforcement in this country is employing excessive force, and other civil rights violations with impunity. We The People demand this to cease. We are a society with rights , and freedoms, not a police state where Law Enforcement has its way with the people. We the people expect this matter to be fully investigated, as with any future violations of this nature.

- Federally trained local cops and their fed bosses in JTTF/CIA/FBI and JINSA need to continue to get out there and do their thing so that we can get the counter-reactions going.

- I hope that the lawyers that will be defending those faux-cops suffer like Hope did. In todays world this should not happen to anyone of any gender or race.

- We live in the 21st century but the only way police think they can stop a person from harming themselves or others is by forcefully stripping somebody naked and locking them in a cell for hours? If Hope Steffy was suicidal, which I highly doubt, wouldn't the humiliation she was put through increase her chances of committing suicide? Why couldn't they simply put her in a straight jacket if they thought she wanted to harm herself? Why not handcuff her hands and feet to a bed and let her sleep with her clothes on? Police officers will claim they are acting logically. They removed her clothes because she could potentially use them to hang herself. To me it makes no sense.. how exactly do you hang yourself in a cement prison cell? Where do you tie the noose to? The entire policy is just ridiculous and exessive. It's the same as breaking somebody's arms because they are going to potentially harm themselves and you're doing it for their own good.

- If police in this country are not reigned in, we will soon be living in a totalitarian state. For a man to defend the behaviour, such as Sheriff Swanson has done in this case, he must be ignorant, sexist or masochist.

- The harm done to her mental health by these officers will never fully be undone. Some people say it was necessary to remove her clothes. If it had been done according to law by female officers, I would not argue with their judgment. However, leaving her naked for six hours after the search in a public area cannot be justified by any sane person. Some people will argue that she should not win her lawsuit, but she will probably need counseling for an undetermined amount of time. This costs money. Also it should be evident that an incident such as she suffered will remain with her for the rest of her life and she will not be able to look at a police uniform again without fear. The human body is said to have five senses. I say a well adjusted individual has sever. The sixth being empathy and the seventh conscience. Without these last two, we are not complete. Thousands of our soldiers have died overseas trying to civilize other nations, while our terrorists here continue to do harm unrestrained
