We, The Hard Working People of the United States of America (Who are part of the government decission process) Demand a more fair labor practice. We demand a change in the Department Of Labor (DOL). For far too long the hard working poor have been struggling to make an hounest wage with fair labor laws. As of now the majority of lower income workers have been the backbone of all companies but have not been recieving a fair wage or fair labor laws. The DOL has done nothing for hard working people and has been a waste of tax payers money. We propose new laws to govern the DOL and laws to keep greedy corporations from taking advantage of it's employees. We recomend the following......
First. We demand that either the new overtime law be removed, or a new law put in place giving any employee who does not recieve overtime pay the right to turn down any overtime hours if their weekly hours are to exceed 40 hours. If an employee is not eligible for overtime pay, they should have the right to not be forced any hours over 40.
Second. We want a new panel added to the Department Of Labor. This new panel will consist of 50 representatives, one person from each state who do not have to belong to any political party. Each representative must be a resident of their state, and no more than one person from any state. Each representative will contribute to the making of laws to govern all Labor activities. All representatives will hold their position for no more than 4 years at a time. No representative will be allowed if they are a union employee. Each representative will be allowed to this new office if they make $45,000 or less per year. Any person making more than $45,000 per year will not be allowed to enter into this new office. No person to be allowed if they are closely related to a person who owns a big business. The author volateers to head the panel. These rules are only a few of what would govern this new panel, for the purpose of preventing corporate and political influence.
This would work to create a truly fair Labor Department for the hard working people of America. It would work to govern and protect America's workers from being mistreated and opressed by big business and corupt political party member.
