Sub: Request for re-allotment of land to Amananath shrine

We, the citizens of India, are deeply hurt by the revocation of land order to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. It is sad that the Board's intent to construct shelters for the Amarnath yatris, is being projected by the separatists, as a plot to alter the J&K state's demographics.

It is disheartening that your government, conceded to the separatists' agenda that Hindus are outsiders of Kashmir, and that land could not be given to a Hindu board. Its appalling to find that a Hindu board cannot be given a speck of 100 acres, in the whole state of J&K.

We heard you speak so many times about your commitment to secularism. Please send a strong signal to separatists, J and K is a part of India - and any religious board will not be denied of its rightful needs. Please restore the land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, at the earliest.

    • Land must be restored to enable the shrine board for construction of buildings to accomodate pilgrims during the night and to protect their lives from the vagaries of weather. It will not change the demoghrapy of J&K as this area remains cut off from the rest of the country for atleast 4-5 months every year.
