    • There is no other dog park within walking distance of my house. Without Heritage Dog Park, I would have to load Jack into the car twice a day to drive him for a walk.

    • Despite the presence of A.L.R. around the dog park, public green spaces are few and far between in this area for kids to play and dogs to run. Build downtown and allow height in buildings rather than spacial expansion plans.

    • Regardless of the fact that I do not live in the area of the Heritage Dog Park, there is no guarantee that, one day, I may very well love there. I have relatives living on the park and I thoroughly enjoy visisting them and watching the people and their dogs walk the park. Please do not destroy a wonderful part of this area......green space is too precious and so treasured.

    • We need every greenspace possible in a small town which is becoming overgrown with houses and streets for cars. We need the green spaces for ourselves and our animal companions to run free and remind us to stay in touch with nature. Our spiritual beings require such a contact.

    • Just think of the problems that will be caused by eradicating this park. People will have no place to take their dogs and will seek other places where dogs are not allowed. The city wants people to follow the rules and obey the 'no dogs allowed' signs, but then takes away the spaces we need to follow that rule. The city needs to be people friendly and not money hungry!! Not too many people like to visit Vernon just for that reason.

    • It is common knowledge that people (and pets) living in proximity to nature are less prone to violence. Vernon has precious little green space. It would be a great detriment to lose this park. Houses can be built anywhere but once a green space has been bulldozed over the natural vegetation will never re-grow.
