This Petition is organized in support of Bill C-221, to convince the Prime Minister of Canada to take action to terminate the claw back to Military/RCMP Veterans Annuity plans when they attain age 65.
Military/RCMP pensioners seek no funds from the Public Account! We simply request that a portion of the surplus dollars, available in our Annuity account, be allocated to improve the standard of living to our Veterans. Give them the Financial Dignity they so richly deserve!
In 1966 the CPP was introduced as an Income Security program, supplementing Old Age Security. The Government of the day created a gross injustice, deliberate or otherwise, by not giving us a choice to participate in the decision making process. Veterans were not properly advised of the pitfalls we would encounter at age 65. Senior Military Officers and RCMP personnel had absolutely no say in the matter of merging rather than stacking our Annuity contributions.
Veterans are a different Government provider. We were available 24/7, serving far abroad, and we were prepared to give the ultimate sacrifice to our Country. Our most Senior Decorated Officers support our Mission. Politicians have exempted themselves from the claw back that would have affected their Pensions. Veterans also deserve to be exempted!
In order to succeed, this petition must be individually signed by all supporters. Signing the petition is an absolute requirement to success! Every vote counts!
Veterans want their Golden Years Financial Dignity restored!

- My pension after 26 years service was quite acceptable - but at age 65 after 22 years retirement, I find it is barley adequate.

- Our men and women are still dying in a needless war and are subject to this reduction at age 65. Lip service is no longer acceptable.
