This petition is meant to allow prayer and/or Bible reading to be legal in the public schools once again. The principals, teachers, and staff members of the schools will be given the choice to either allow regularly scheduled prayer and/or Bible reading or not.
The first amendment of the Constitution states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." This would not be "establishing a religion"; this would simply be giving us the freedom of religion. People that oppose or disagree with the practice of prayer and/or Bible reading are not compelled or forced to participate, and they may be excused from the room or assembly at that time.
When school prayer was outlawed, evangelist Billy Graham summed it all up, saying, "This is another step toward the secularization of the United States. [...] The framers of our Constitution meant we were to have freedom of religion, not freedom from religion."
If you agree with this petition and would like to see our public schools gain freedom of religion once again, please sign this. I am sure that you will be blessed. Many Christians want this to happen, but it is never going to happen, if we dont do something about it!

- Not only the US, but the UK also should have this... I go to a Christian public school that allows other faiths. There should be more schools like that.

- yes i do believe that prayer should be in school - i was one of the fortunate one who was able to experience having prayer and the Holy Bible in public and private shcool settings - i do believe that our school system has went downhill since it has been taken out - i am still flabbergasted that ONE person who was an atheist and has now passed - was able to have prayer taken out of school - but when it comes to many people trying to stand together as ONE NATION UNDER GOD to have this put back in shcool - there is such a problem.

- i agree, but by law, we are allowed to read the bible in school and pray in school. but if they try and stop us, we can legally sue them and/or take them to court.

- i believe we have the right to learn right from wrong and nto be forced to follow only what the school says. We look at young girls showing their rear ends but yet we cant carry around a bible..we have just as much right as the next person to do this kind of stuff

- If you approve of this, you are basically approving favouritsm in schools. In case you've been living in a hole for the last millenium -not all people are Christians so why do you think that "your people" should get special privelages while Buddhists, Muslims and Jews do not? Is it because your god is the real god? Give me a break!

- Take God out of schools = Putting the Devil inside school walls. Please don't take away our children's religion rights. Wanna know why there are so many school shootings? Cause God isn't allowed inside the school anymore. That's why. Put God and religion back in our schools.

- Have you ever heard of private schools? Obviously not... I have, but I cant afford it with my Burger King earnings, I spent all my time praying for a blessed life instead of studying Hmmm, have you tried home schooling, its free, and you can pray all day long.
