We the undersigned request that the film, television and theatre actress Googie Withers be given a Damehood.

Googie has starred in many great films and television programmes over the years and will probably be best remembered for her portrayal of Governess Faye Boswell in the classic 1970's television drama series Within These Walls. Googie is an outstanding British talent and deserves her recognition. She received her CBE in 2002 but I think we should go one better than that and reward her with a DBE and make her a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Please consider what has been said in this petition because the person to whom it concerns has got real genuine talent.
