Wizards, don't rename in play to something that is just going to confuse old players and repulse new ones. DON'T RENAME IN PLAY TO IN THE BATTLEFIELD.

    • I'll just keep calling it 'in play' anyway.

    • Please don't do it! It will mess with the certainties of rulings. In the battlefield? Most lands aren't in battle. Most enchantments aren't either. Any smart Aven, Bird, Angel, etc. would usually stay high above the "field" itself. And I've never heard of a game of Magic when all the creatures used by both players were flyers. But they would still be in play. Dragons can also stay in the air for a while. They're not on or in the "Field", but they can still breathe fire at things. This change would also mess with flavor for other things as well.

    • Please dont change keywords, if people are getting confused about the keywords now, they are not educated and should NOT be playing magic.

    • - Dragon Broodmother doesn't want her kids to have to grow up on a battlefield. Think of the dragon children.

    • Changing the succinct 'in play' to the wordy 'on the battlefield' doesn't make much sense to me, flavour or no. I'll probably keep refering to the zone as 'play' because, like many gamers, I'm lazy. Casting spells is cool, because it's no more effort to say. Exiled could work to replace 'removed from the game', which is a mouthful (although it could sound pretty cheesy if done badly). The battlefield is a wordy name (even more so than graveyard, which most players still shorten to yard, or grave). If you're going to choose a new flavourful name for the zone, don't make it a whole 2 syllables longer! Besides, magic was fun and flavourful before casting spells and putting creatures on the battlefield.

    • Changing 'in play' to 'into the battlefield' or whatever is silly and unnecessary. It's clunky and will just alienate potential players from the game.

    • battlefield sounds lame! the fact that magic doesn't use lame terms like that makes it seem more professional!
