WWE & UPN - PETITION TO REMOVE WWE PROGRAMS & REMOVAL OF OFFICES HELD BY THE MCMAHON FAMILY
We the undersigned are appalled at the actions of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), UPN, and Vince McMahon in regards to his callous and cold behavior towards human life. In the past, WWE has capitolized on wrestlers misfortunes by later using them as an angle or storyline. He had no regards for the family and fans of the late Owen Hart, continuing the show when Mr. Hart fell to his death on a LIVE show. Rather than close the show out of respect, he allowed fans believe it was a planned stunt, and the show went on. We believe that his reasons were all about the money. On the day of the London terrorist attack, UPN aired a WWE Smackdown program, showing two masked men in combat uniforms, depicting them as terrorists, to invade the set and attack a wrestler, namely the Undertaker. Rather than cancel the show because of the bombings, it aired, with a small notice flashing across the screen that the content may offend come people, therefore discretion is advised. UPN program directors were aware of the content of that program, as were Vince McMahon and his family, all of whom hold executive positions in WWE. They did not warn anyone about the true content of the program, only that it may offend. We the undersigned do not feel that was appropriate warning for viewers. Because of the actions by WWE, UPN, and their respective producers and program services, we the undersigned, will no longer watch UPN programs unless WWE is pulled from the broadcasting station, nor will we watch further programs produced by WWE. Furthermore, we feel Vince McMahon has ruined wrestling for millions of fans because of his lack of regard for human life and feelings. He has publicly humiliated wrestlers of the former WCW by using his WWE programs to do so, and has even fired them for unjust reasons We prefer he and all of his family members be removed from any and all executive, decision-making capacity. We want this petition to go to the Board of Directors at World Wrestling Entertaiment, and the Senior Broadcast Executives at UPN.

- I only watch WWE Wrestling sporadically these days,for me this happened May 23,1999,the day Owen Hart was killed.Without the fans there would be no WWE.Vince alsways says he made these certain guys,he maybe came up with the in ring personas but ultimately whether the fans like the characters or dislike them is whether they live or die.Without the fans there is no WWE,No Money for The McMahons and the shareholders of the company.

- Enough is enough! The Smackdown show may have taped before the London bombings, but anyone with any class whatsoever would have pulled the show from the air after what happened. Of course, Vince has never been know for class, or regard for anyone's feelings.

- I was a fan of WCW, but once it was purchased by the McMahon family I refused to watch and I refuse to watch WWE. They have ruined wrestling for the fans and they have no regard for anything but their big fat bank accounts. I think the McMahon family should be banned from wrestling all together.

- See, what you don't understand is, UPN decided to air the footage, not the WWE. It was UPN's call, and they were ultimately the ones who left it in. I saw the event live, and maybe it was just me, but I don't seem to remember a "mock beheading" or anything similar to it. The Undertaker was choked out with piano wire, then Hassan applied his finishing maneuver, a LEGITIMATE wrestling hold, the Camel Clutch. Now here's what really confuses me. In the TV show Lost, there were actors who played terrorists. Yet nobody creates petitions or complains about them. But when a person in the WWE does it, it's atrocious and in bad taste. Here's the deal, people. It's all FICTION. It ISN'T REAL. If Hassan were in fact a terrorist, sure, I could see why you'd be upset. But the fact is, the WWE and its characters AREN'T REAL. SO THERE'S NO REASON TO GET UPSET. If you don't like it, turn off the TV!

- The Smackdown storylines have become too personal. And too much emphasis is on locker-room drama. I've stopped watching "Smackdown" recently in protest. Time for WWE to be off the air.
