We, the undersigned, as consumers and fans of rock music, wish to see Rush considered for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

We believe that Rush has earned a spot in the Hall of Fame for reasons including, but not limited to, the following:

--Rush has 22 consecutive gold records, and is fourth behind The Beatles, The Stones, and Kiss in all-time gold record acquisitions for a band. Fourteen of those albums have gone platinum.

--Rush has inspired such bands as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, The Tragically Hip, Smashing Pumpkins, Primus, Queensryche, and many more.

--Rush's lineup has remained unchanged since their first major tour in 1974.

--Rush has consistently put out records that reflect their own artistic growth and change, without compromising the band's integrity for the sake of sales.

--Rush has a huge, worldwide fanbase.

--Rush has, with the exception of the Test for Echo "Evening with Rush" tour, always toured with opening acts in part to allow said acts the chance to play on "a fairly large tour" (as quoted by Alex Lifeson).

--Outside of Rush, each member has made his own contributions to the world of rock music, through production, outside musical efforts, guest appearances, and so forth.

--Rush consists entirely of men your children can look up to. No scandals, no embarrassing "National Enquirer" moments, nothing like that. Just really good music from generally decent human beings.

We believe that Rush has been sorely overlooked in the United States for far too long by the popular media and the critics. The Hall of Fame was founded to recognize outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of rock music. Inducting Rush will legitimize that claim by recognizing one band in particular that has contributed dramatically to the rock genre while continually preserving its integrity

    • Rush Rules! They were the best back-up band that Micheal Jackson and Madonna ever had! They really rocked on "Thriller", and the guitar solo and drum licks on "Like a virgin" were the best!

    • The facts tell the story; just because a band is not considered "mainstream" by the media, does not make them any less influential to the world of rock and roll.

    • Rush is the greatest group of musicians in the history of rock-and-roll. It is a tragedy that Rush has not yet been inducted into the Hall of Fame. The bottom line is that Rush consists of three incredibly talented musicians who have been making amazing music with meaningful lyrics for over twenty-five years.

    • I have been a HUGE fan of Rush for almost 20 years, and they have been together for more than 25 years. I find it very un-nerving, that a group that has survived the tests of time has actually been virtually denied a place in the R&R Hall of Fame. Rush, and it's individual members have influenced so many other musicians, and have touched even more lives with thier music. Every time I hear a song from Rush, I am psychologically forced to crank up the volume on the stereo. As I am listening to the song, I will reflect on where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard it, or, I might just remember the time I actually had the chance to meet Geddy, Alex, and Niel........they were by far the friendliest of all the celebs and musicians I have ever met. I am a firm believer that these 3 men have earned thier place in the R&R Hall of Fame a long time ago.

    • Rush has been a major influence in the Rock music written in the last three decades. I know that I always list Rush, and Geddy Lee in specific, as my major musical influences when asked. Their hard work and "success without compromise", IMO, should be recognized.
