We, the undersigned, as consumers and fans of rock music, wish to see Rush considered for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
We believe that Rush has earned a spot in the Hall of Fame for reasons including, but not limited to, the following:
--Rush has 22 consecutive gold records, and is fourth behind The Beatles, The Stones, and Kiss in all-time gold record acquisitions for a band. Fourteen of those albums have gone platinum.
--Rush has inspired such bands as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, The Tragically Hip, Smashing Pumpkins, Primus, Queensryche, and many more.
--Rush's lineup has remained unchanged since their first major tour in 1974.
--Rush has consistently put out records that reflect their own artistic growth and change, without compromising the band's integrity for the sake of sales.
--Rush has a huge, worldwide fanbase.
--Rush has, with the exception of the Test for Echo "Evening with Rush" tour, always toured with opening acts in part to allow said acts the chance to play on "a fairly large tour" (as quoted by Alex Lifeson).
--Outside of Rush, each member has made his own contributions to the world of rock music, through production, outside musical efforts, guest appearances, and so forth.
--Rush consists entirely of men your children can look up to. No scandals, no embarrassing "National Enquirer" moments, nothing like that. Just really good music from generally decent human beings.
We believe that Rush has been sorely overlooked in the United States for far too long by the popular media and the critics. The Hall of Fame was founded to recognize outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of rock music. Inducting Rush will legitimize that claim by recognizing one band in particular that has contributed dramatically to the rock genre while continually preserving its integrity

- For God's sake lads, what's a guy like me from the wilds of north western Ireland doing having to put my voice to an effort to highlight something that should be obvious to every American since before I found out about these guys in 1981. It's not even about Rush anymore. It's about restoring a bit of integrity to the awards themselves. That Rush are not there makes it an insult to the likes of BB King, Buddy Guy and others. And speaking of the north west of Ireland, why's Rory Gallagher not there? Ask The Edge to put you wide as to his contribution to the Edge's music alone. He's only too glad and very proud to tell you about it.And what about Thin Lizzy? Bon Jovi, Hughie Lewis, Mettalica and loads more will tell you about their influence on rock n roll. But one thing at a time. Come on, Rush should have been there years ago. What's the hold up? Tom Sawyer, Territories, Circumstances, The Necromancer, Big Money...... Come on, let them in.

- I've been a musician for almost 40 years, saw Rush for the first time in 1975 (opening for Lynard Skynard!) and seen them 5 times since. It is a slap to those of us who love a variety of rock but know that Rush is more than an exceptional band. Great music and relevent lyrics, thats rock.Shame on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

- This a joke that RUSH, with all their accomplishments, have not gotten the recognition deserved. To think, Donna Summers is getting consideration goes to show the 'Politics" that are obviously at work here...

- It's about time to give RUSH the kudos they deserve. Guns and Roses is nominated..for what, 3 or 4 good albums over 5 or 6 years? RUSH is coming up on 40 years of great music. The Hall of Fame decision panel is full of morons.
