We the undersigned petition you to change the winner's song on this years X Factor to something different.
This year's X Factor winner will release a cover version of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah'.
This song is art, it's history and it is special to a lot of people. We heard the best version in 1994 by Jeff Buckley who has since passed away.
Letting this year's winner release another cover of this song would be deeply inappropriate, disrespectful, and I for one strongly doubt they can do the song any justice.
We strongly ask you to simply choose a different song for this year's winning artist to cover.

- Disgusting. All involved in X factor should be ashamed of themselves.

- Why not cover another pop song that a modern-influenced winner could understand, rather than a genre and feeling unknown to them?

- The thought of one of the X-Factor's manufactured morons murdering this masterpiece makes my blood boil. It will be the aural equivalent of turds in my drink.
