More Info at:
Recently, the video game compilation "Mega Man X Collection" was released in the United States for the GameCube and Playstation 2 game consoles. This game was supposed to include several extra features, which prior to release were completed. They were then removed by Keiji Inafune, for fear of them taking momentum away from his "Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X" (Irregular Hunter X in Japan) remakes for the Playstation Portable (the first of these is scheduled for U.S. release on January 31st, 2006). The features were removed quietly, without any announcement prior to the release of "Mega Man X Collection".
The Undersigned believe that this was a selfish and unjustified act against all western fans of Mega Man X (Rockman X in Japan). We request that a new version of "Mega Man X Collection" be released for Playstation 2 and GameCube, restoring those features which were previously completed and then removed. These include:
-Remixed soundtrack for "Mega Man X"
-Remixed soundtrack for "Mega man X2"
-Ocean Group voice acting for "Mega Man X4"
-Retranslated/revised script for "Mega Man X6"
-Ocean Group voice acting for "Mega Man X6"
Because "Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X" and its expected sequels are the reason Keiji Inafune chose to eliminate these features from "Mega Man X Collection", The Undersigned have no intention of purchasing "Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X" or any of its sequels until the above conditions have been met. We believe that "Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X" should be able to coexist with "Mega Man X Collection" as it was originally intended, because of the vast improvements that "Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X" presents to gameplay, storyline, and visuals, as well as portability. But we will not support this decision to damage a great and widely available collection in an attempt to promote individual releases for a more limited audience.
A recall of the current version of "Mega Man X Collection" would be ideal, and very much appreciated by the consumers. However, it is understandable if this does not turn out to be a practical solution. In either case, the statements in the above paragraphs still stand.

- I had high hopes with the ideas that Capcom of America had for X Collection. This is highly unexceptable to fans of the series.

- I fully agree with what's here. We were given all of this hype, only to be treated like crap. Way to go, Capcom, you've slapped X in the face now. First you kick Ryu off the table, now X of all people.

- I'll be honest - I had no intention of buying IHX in the first place. However, I bought Megaman X Collection under false impressions, and while I still enjoy the classic gameplay, I am dissapointed in Capcom as a company. Please, I would be willing to pay /again/ for a new version of the Collection with the removed features. For that matter, show us you care more about entertainment than making a few extra bucks through false hype.

- I bought the X Collection for the games, but also for all of the extras that I read about in the advertisements, that were absent in the game. Isn't that false advertisement? That looks pretty bad for a huge company such as Capcom. Trust me, Maverick Hunter X sales will not decrease because of mere music included in another X game. I would figure that Inafune would want every X game to be appealing to the fans to the fullest, but I guess I'm wrong. Please Capcom, add the extras that were promised and advertised to the whole country. It could make even more people interested in the series, causing even more people to buy Maverick Hunter X, increasing sales on both ends. A win-win situation.

- Not fair to exclude the X collection extras in favor of a system that most people don't have (And can't afford.)

- Next time, just use an actual fish hook instead of promising all these cool-sounding extras and then reneging on those promises. There might be less disappointment.

- I refuse--and I disagree with the theory that any online petition is at all effective at gaining the attention that anyone here believes they can.

- When Capcom actually tried so hard to please the gamers, they were cut off at the knees and we were cheated. This is unacceptable, and I await the release of "Mega Man X Collection Plus" before I buy another Capcom product again.
