The Crossroads Appreciation Society has launched a new petition to get DVD company, Network DVD, to release more episodes of Crossroads. So far the company have released four Best Of volumes and 20 archive releases which comprise of episodes in order of broadcast. When the release of the archive DVDs began the company promised to release all the episodes of the Motel based soap left in the archives but has stopped at the 1979 episodes.

The DVDs are consistently been best sellers for Network DVD with each release making it into the companys top ten sellers. The soap has even outsold release of Emmerdale, Coronation Street and The Bill on DVD not bad for a soap that isnt even on air any more. Despite the negative image surrounding the Birmingham soap there has clearly been a demand for episodes of the soap on DVD.

Fans had hoped that the archive release would continue especially as Crossroads celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. However, at the present time it seems the company has no plans to release further DVDs and so CAS has decided to launch another petition in the hope of encouraging Network DVD to continue their releases.

CAS launched the original DVD petition in 2004 spearheaded by member Tony Wilson, in time for the 40th anniversary of the series, and was highly successful and resulted in the original Best Off volumes being released for which the release was widely published with spots on This Morning amongst other shows.

CAS hopes that with the support of its members behind it Network DVD will release there is a market for further volumes and will celebrate the 45th anniversary of Crossroads in fitting style.

    • I watched Crossroads from the mid 1970s to the mid 1980s, and have bought all the Dvd releases from Network. I would like the company to uphold their promise to release all episodes in the archive. The show has a solid fan base who have paid good money on the promise of future releases, so come on Network, be true to your word please.

    • Network did us proud in releasing the episodes and while their CS can be a bit iffy at times they're a good company for releasing old television shows.
