Your Excellency
We are writing to you regarding Israels discriminatory policies towards Palestinian inhabitants of Jerusalem. As you will already be aware, Palestinians in general suffer intensive Israeli military repression, which is incompatible with human rights and the Genиve conventions. In addition to ignoring Security Council resolutions 194 and 242, Israel is also violating the human rights of native Palestinians in East Jerusalem, which by international law is considered as occupied territory.
Palestinians in East Jerusalem are faced with forced exclusion and confiscation of their property and land. The number of confiscations is increasing at an alarming rate. According to The Israeli Information Centre for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories (BTselem), from the total number of Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem who have lost their right of residence since 1967, 35\% (a total of 4,577) have lost their land in the last two years since 2008. Furthermore, between 2004 and 2008, the Israeli military has demolished 402 Palestinian constructions. In 2008, 89 demolition processes occurred while the first half of 2009 witnessed 40 demolition processes. In addition, in the West Jerusalem municipal area, 41 Palestinian constructions were demolished since 15 November 2009. According to BTselem, more than a third of lands that were illegally annexed to Jerusalem municipality, most of which belonged to Palestinians, were then used to construct Israeli settlements in the city.
Based on these findings, we the undersigned, demand of you in your capacity as Secretary General of the United Nations, the following:
1. to oblige Israel to abide the international law and the Genиve conventions regarding the status of East Jerusalem as occupied territory .
2. to oblige Israel to stop its discriminatory polices towards Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem, policies which include land confiscation, house demolitions, withdrawal of Palestinian rights of residence and denying Palestinians building permits in the city.

- I have met and talked with some of the residets of Sheikh Jarrah, and was appalled at the treatment they have suffered. The settlers moving into their home - and the city authorities destroying their tent home - disgraceful ! And the world keeps quiet - largely in ignorance. The UN must do all it can to pursue the Goldstone Report, and work for justice for Jerusalem's residents. END DISCRIMINATION and ethnic cleansing

- Not enough to stop Israel's Discriminatory Policies , but should not be allowed to enter ( at least )East Jerusalem , they should be cleared and cleansed from all inches of Palestine land.

- What is happening to these Palestinians is ruthlessly unjust. The UN must condemn it with vigour. And furthermore consider how the UN must enforce that condemmnation and their own resolutions

- Without international pressure Israel would continue with ethnic cleansing of Palestinians out of Jerusalem, West Bank, Gaza, al-Naqab, Jaffa, Galilee. We are witnessing Israel implementing its racist transfer of Palestinians. We must work harder to stop it lets start with Boycott Divestment & Sanctions

- It is time for the whole world to move against the Israeli atrocities against the innocent Palestinian people whose main goal is to have a country of their own and to live in peace.

- Since 1967, Israel has been active in its ethnic cleansing and discrimination against Palestininan residents of Jerusalem. Israeli policies are driven my Zionist agendas to drive out Palestinians out of Jerusalem and out of Palestine. Palestinians living in Jerusalem have been paying high taxes and high costs imposed on them by the Israeli authorities. Palestinians in Jerusalem, as it is the case for Palestinians anywhere in Palestine, face Israeli restrictions on their daily affairs. UN has acknoweledged the fact that Israel has committed crimes and other human rights violations against the Palestinian people. We must do whatever it takes to stop Israeli crimes and end the occupation of Palestine.

- The EU , when under British presidency, produced a report expressing concern about Israel's policy of Judaisation of Jerusalem through land confiscation and house demolitions. Jack Straw, the British Foregn Secretary at the time, prevented it's publication out of concern not to offend the Israeli's. This policy of appeasement does nothing but give license to the oppressor to continue their ethnic cleansing. I met families in Sheik Jarrah who had been thrown out of their homes by Jewish settlers. It is devastating.

- I used to give lessons based on the UN Declaration of Human Rights in my Citizenship Course. It seems that each and every one of these human rights is violated by the Israeli State when it comes to the treatment of Palestinians. One would expect the UN to put real pressure on Israel to change its policies; otherwise the UN will lose its credibility as an organisation promoting ideals.

- The two-state solution, or any peace initiative for that matter, is a farce under such unjust conditions. These continuing acts of aggression and discrimination by the Israeli government have destroyed the viability of any peace process.
