In response to the current royalty rate hikes which will lead to the demise of most independent internet radio stations we would like to hear from the artists both large and small. If you are an artist and feel the rates are not beneficial to you please sign this petition.

    • It's is an unfair ruling that only benefit the corporations and NOT the artists or the listening public. The only reason this law is being passed is to squeeze the life out of the small independent broadcaster thus minimizing the competitors to the larger broadcasters. It's is an unfair ruling that only benefit the corporations and NOT the artists or the listening public. • I am an Independent artist who feels that the RIAA does not represent my interests in any way. The RIAA is concerned ONLY with filling the pockets of the major labels, at the expense of free artistry if it gets in its way. None-commercial radio is a blessing to my life, as well as to the music Industry as a greater whole. If free expression is reserved only for the corporations that can afford it, then the ideals embodied in the first Amendment are as lost to us as last years dreams.

    • Radio stations are only interested in playing songs that are already hits, not songs that nobody's heard of yet...this is why we have internet radio. It gives artists a chance to break out into the music scene and get the recognition that they deserve.

    • I am a Country/Gospel Music Recording artist, and this rate change is insane.. Us Indie artists are just trying to be discovered, and without internet radio we cannot have the freedom, that we are supposed to have to share our music with the world. This is so unfair to us as well as all the internet broadcasters.. I am also a songwriter, which several of my songs get airplay overseas and in the USA.. and I have yet to see a royalty check from BMI.. So where's OUR MONEY?????

    • I am a small internet broadcaster, and I whole heartedly support HR-2060... I believe that internet radio is another way with freedom of speech... and I also believe that the only reason they are doing this is because they are threatened by the fact that internet radio is becoming the wave of the future... they need to get over themselves and get with the program.. because this can benefit them rather than hurt them.. but if they pass this law.. they are going to see, that this will hurt them in the pocket book more than they know.. It has already been determined that their major distributor 'Walmart' is threatening to pull out because of album sales being down.. well getting rid of internet radio is only going to make it worse!!! They better pray that God has mercy on their souls for being so greedy!!!!
