This is a petition to YouTube about their deletion of Anime Music Videos.

It is NOT fair. Just because the songs and clips alone are not ours, does not mean that the work and effort we put into them certainly are. We are not making any profits off of these fan-made videos and only do it out of love for what we watch. We are not out to steal anything; if anything, we're drawing more attention to the programming and the music, creating more fans. Saying that what we are doing is wrong is the same as saying that drawing fanart or writing fanfiction is wrong. As long as profits aren't being made off of what we do, then there is no ill will. We just want to express our fandom. That is all. We aren't publishing full episodes for people to watch for free at all; those are the people who should be stopped, not us.

We worked hard on what we make, just like everyone else on YouTube, so why should our videos be deleted? In fact, we probably put a lot more effort into what we do than quite a few people on the site, and we don't deserve to be disrespected.

Thank you for taking time to read this petition.

    • I've yet to make an AMV, however-I know many people who do, and every person who makes an AMV puts at least a LITTLE effort into them. And besides-no one's claiming any clips as their's, so I don't see the problem with AMVs on Youtube.

    • They need to stop deleting crap. I enjoy watching the videos my friends make. So stop being haters and live up to the fact that many of the original authers like it when people do things like that. It show that people like thier stuff. It gives them pride and self confidence.

    • i agree, it IS rather stupid that our amvs are taken down. perfectly good videos (mostly deathnote, i noticed) are taken down due to "copyright" and thats just not right. for starters, we dont claim anything, nor are we just posting a song and a blank picture. there is nothing being copyrighted. youtube has gone downhill in a short time, and its becoming stupid now. granted, there are companies that are aiding youtube's deleting of amvs, and they're as much to blame as youtube, but its getting out of hand now.

    • This will really make a difference to how youtube is run! But wait, hold on! The law which has made this happen is the same law which protects material which you create! Say you found out that someone took one of Jessica's videos and used it without even asking - you would probably be pretty pissed off wouldn't you!

    • Its time peoplee stopped trying to strangle fans creative freedom. And further not allowing AMVs is to stay online is similar to removing fanfiction. Large companies must understand that these clips and videos bring in more fans and help the fan base connect on a deeper level. All of which are good for a show as new fans are brought in and add ratings. And really a forward looking company would embrace the huge internet fan base.

    • I can tell you it takes hours to make an amv and do it right. Some people (like my self) find we're really good at editing video and find a new hobbie. We just wanna have fun and make shure that we obey the rules too! thank you for your time.

    • If anything, deleting AMVs is just killing free advertisment. And I don't say that just because I like/make AMVs. I wouldn't know quite a few bands if it weren't for AMVs. After I saw an AMV with a Skillet song, I just had to buy the CD. Yes, BUY. My friend has also gotten interested into a series by watching AMVs. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya (sp?) to be exact. So seriously, please stop.
