My name is Yupik, and I had been banned on Deviantart.com because I was a participant in harassment, which I had stated something vulgar, and was not tolerated. I had written "Dogfucker" on somebody's profile, and was banned almost 24 hour after. I did not call the kid one, I stated it. I was not harassing him, it depends how they would take it. I want my account back since I do business, and post my art there for feedback. The ban they said was "not negotiable". But I believe it was unjust. My ban is permanent. I refuse to make a new account because I do not want to be disallowed on the website anymore, and I treasure my account name. If you do, please sign this petition.

    • Frankly, I am not surprised at what has happened. deviantArt's Help Desk team seems to have a skewed and biased view on how to handle harrassment reports. They've certainly allowed far worse than this from bratty kids who've trolled and flame baited me (always saying that the report "did not seem to show anything serious enough to warrant action"). PFFT. They've NEVER been of ANY help to me. NEVER. From what I have heard of this case, Yupik didn't deserve a ban, even if she perhaps could have handled her posting a bit better than she did. But it's just another case of the dA staff being infuriatingly-stupid about how they handle such things.

    • Yupik Didn't deserve to be banned, especially if she was just make "restating" what the peron had originally called theirselves! that wasn't right, she is a really nice person and talented artist.

    • I've seen FAR FAR worse than that on dA and they've never done anything. To ban someone from restating what the person themselves said..? That's far out of line and shows how much dA really pays attention to what they are doing. The ban is most deffinatly unjust.

    • Now, I do not know Yupik that well, but I have read some of her journals and seen some of her art. From what I've read, it seems like she is a decent and contributive member of Deviant Art. The situation as it was described to me does not seem to be good grounds on which to permanently ban someone over. Especially considering the magnitude of "harassment" that people get away with on that site. I feel that the administration of Deviant Art should realize the fact that some people will accuse others of "harassment" just to get them in trouble, perhaps because they do not like them. People get away with worse on dA.

    • Sorry but that's rubbish. DA allows MUCH worse from other people and don't do anything. I know because *I* have reported them and they said it wasn't serious enough for them to bother with. Double standards DA, keep Yupik banned and you should ban EVERYONE who swears as an insult to anyone.
