Dear Warner Brothers
It has come to our attention that Warner Brothers most recently acquired the rights for the Death Note franchise. We, the signers of this petition, think that actor and superstar Zac Efron would be the ideal actor for the role as Yagami Light. Mr.Efron has claimed that he is a fan of Japanese manga, and chances are that he's already aware of the Death Note franchise.
We, and certainly many more who are aware of the Death Note franchise, believe that the potential casting of Zac Efron in an American Live-Action film would be well received by the fans, and, would be the best choice for a faithful adaption of the franchise. This would also be an exciting project for Mr.Efron which would deviate from his previous work.

- I think that it would be good all around for Zac to play Light. Not only is he a big fan of the anime/manga (and of anime/manga in general), which means that he would try his best at the role and truly understand what it requires, but this could also be good for the movie itself. Getting such a big name star to play the starring role will help bring in the dollars and hopefully make the American "Death Note" live-action movie a success. This, in turn, could lead to more well-done and well-receieved anime to American live-action movie adaptations. So, I definitely think he should be considered, and not solely because he looks the part, which he most certainly does.
