Drawing Attention to Race Issues Beyond Black and White

To:  National and Local Media

The Rev. Wright issue has forced Senator Obama to ask for a national conversation about race in America. In his speech he discussed African American anger and White resentment. He mentioned issues related to Mexican-Americans and other minorities only in passing and the media has ignored race issues related to Latinos, which include Mexican-Americans and members of Latin America, despite the fact that Latinos are collectively the largest minority group in this country.

Regardless of your opinion on how much progress has been made, do you believe the major media outlets should discuss race issues relating to all of this nation’s ethnic groups instead of simply focusing on Black and White relations?
