Freedom and independence for Pitcairn islands!

Your Majesty,

The people of Pitcairn Island which is currently living under the authority of Your Majesty, as other peoples of the world has the right of self-determination (including full independence). More over, in this case we see the descendants of the people who more than two century ago renounced the sovereignty of Your predecessors on the throne of England.

At the moment, Pitcairn islands included in the United Nations list of Non-Self-Governing Territories and from the standpoint of an international law Pitcairn islands is a colony. But colonialism is a violation of fundamental human rights. Besides its grim legacy puts a dark spot on an image of the great British nation.

Your advisers may tell you that the islanders supposedly have no wishes and reasons to gain independence. It's a lie. In fact, the UK does not help to Pitcairn development and there is nothing to lose for the islanders. Meanwhile, with independent development they could achieve more.

In accordance with UN resolutions and international law norms we demand to hold a referendum in the Pitcairn Islands on subject of independence. The referendum should not be organized by the British authorities. The international institutions must take the initiative to organize the referendum and carry out monitoring of the ballot.
