Make Malia Mayor Deal With Stray Animal Issues

In 2003 a new law was voted in Greece not only providing animals with better protection but also requiring that Local Authorities take action in solving the stray dog and cat issues. Some of the solutions include a temporary shelter and catch-neuter-release programmes.



The Mayor of Malia, Crete however, after being approached several times not only by the Cretan Animal Welfare Group but also by the Ministry of Agriculture, said (quote) "there are no strays in Malia", and continues now he has been elected for another 4 years, to ignore the problem of stray and unwanted animals in the area.



Please help us show him that we care about the animals, that there is a problem and that this programme may actually count in votes for him.
