To the Honorable 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Obama:
We petition that in accordance with the "Establishment Clause" of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, that the Pledge of Allegiance be made modernized and Constitutional.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"
Therefore, officially endorsing the section "Under God" is a violation of Constitutional law.
We also believe that a draconian loyalty oath is un-American for the following reasons:
1. Obedience to the State is not a virtue, the State exists at the consent of the people.
2. The term "Indivisible" disrespects the rights of the states in favor of nationalism.
3. The fellow citizens of the United States should be pledged allegiance to, not the government itself.
4. Our commitment to humanity as a whole, should not be waived simply due to where we are born.
Therefore, we petition that the Pledge of Allegiance should be changed to resemble the following:
"I pledge allegiance to the people of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which we stand, one nation, part of one world, with liberty and justice for all."
