Roman Polanski pleaded guilty in 1977 to sexual offences committed against a child of 13 years. Polanski was 44 years of age at the time. By pleading guilty, he accepted the charges against him.

He is now the subject of an extradition warrant issued by the United States authorities in relation to his sentencing at that trial.
