Carrie Prejean should keep her Miss California crown

Carrie Prejean is the legitimate representative of the state of California, and deserves to keep her crown.

She gave her honest answer in response to a question. As well as saying she felt marriage should be between a man and a woman, she said she was glad she lived in a country where people had a choice. Her answer was both kind and truthful.

She attended the church she always attends, and got grief for it. Yes, the church leadership put her up on the stage, and she talked to the congregation. If someone returns from a mission trip to Mexico, they talk to the congregation. She shared her experiences and opinions with her church family.

She posed in skimpy clothes, with an arm hiding her breasts. I can go to any public pool in the summer, and see more skin. Ms. Prejean upheld standards of morality.

It is wrong, as a country, to insist that someone has to think just as we do, to be accepted and valued. If we go down this path, it will eventually come to blows. Let's stop now, and keep our civility, and our trust.

Ms. Prejean should keep her crown.
