Project GREEN: Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions

To:  The United States Congress

We believe that the United States of America, as one of the world's largest economies, has the duty to demonstrate firm leadership in the issue of global climate change as well as the regulation and enforecment of greenhouse gas emissions. While the United States cannot legislate emission standards for the world economy, the United States may set standards for what is allowed within its borders.

Thus, we call upon our government to enact appropriate regulation of greenhouse gas emissions by restricting imports of products or commodities that were not manufactured or processed in compliance with minimum USA greenhouse gas emissions standards -- the same standards that all USA manufactured products must adhere to.
