This petition is crafted to place the Obama Presidential team on notice that the LGBT community is outraged by the selection of Rick Warren as part of your inauguration. We will not tolerate this outrageous level of disrespect and direct insult.

Rick Warren is part of the SaddleBack Church which openly advocates to not only remove the rights of gays and lesbians, but to criminalize homosexuality. This criminalzation advocacy includes death for homosexuals for being homosexual.

His association with the Obama inauguaration is not just an affront to the LGBT community it is an assault on all American values.

Having him involved with the inauguration gives his hate filled, bigoted group credibility and public affirmation by the President.

This highly visible association and credibility will catapult Rick Warren into the public eye as being a confidant and advisor to the President, and will give the impression that President Obama shares his views.

It is the hope the framers of this petition that it will go "viral" and be brought into the mainstream media. Obama needs to realize that bridges cannot be built on the backs of a persecuted minority and be expected to stand. Rick Warren is a torch that will burn many bridges with the LGBT community.

Failure to remove Warren will negatively color every statement he has ever made concering civil rights and support of the Constituition of the United States.
