The Nerve is now Huge!
Clear Channel Communications Inc. has sold the naming rights of WNVE-FM 107.3, the Nerve, to the area’s newest car dealer, Billy Fuccillo.
Using Fuccillo’s advertising catch phrase, the station now will be known as HUGE!107.3.
“The time was right to try something new, and with Billy Fuccillo’s forward-thinking business savvy, we’re confident we found the right partner for our station,” said Karen Carey, Clear Channel’s local vice president and market manager.
The station also is changing its format from active rock to an audience-dictated play list. HUGE! plans to sample a variety of music formats, including disco, country and oldies, among others, and allow listener feedback to direct the station’s play list.
It is not the first time the station has been through an overhaul. In 2004 Clear Channel moved the Nerve up the dial from its previous home at 95.1 FM in order to push its classic-hits station, the Fox.
The pairing between Clear Channel and Fuccillo comes less than two months after the opening of Fuccillo Hyundai of Greece Inc. Fuccillo, based in Jefferson County, has some 20 dealerships across the state, and the dealer’s Hyundai franchise ranks second nationally in terms of sales.
