Credit Reg Varney for 1st ever ATM |
-- Thank you to all who have signed so far --
To: To credit Reg Varney for opening the world's first cash machineIn 1968, Reg Varney (prior to on the buses fame) was called upon to open the World's first cash machine at Barclays Bank, Enfield, London.
In 1992, Enfield council put up a plaque, celebrating the machine but not who opened it. Instead naming the person that put the plaque there.
Disgusting!
Reg sadly passed away in November 2008, and we want his memory to live on with a Proper plaque with his name on it!
Sign the petition, and get Reg famous again!Sincerely,
