The McSpecter Petition

To:  The National Council for a New America

There is no quicker way to seal the death of the Republican Party than to embark on this appallingly misguided "National Council for a New America" movement being led by John McCain, which shockingly fails to learn from history for the umpeenth time and is sure to bury conservatism for decades to come, if not forever.

By your own admission, this movement aims to "reach out" and make the Republican Party more "inclusive." It "seeks to remove ideological filters" and to try and engage in a friendly "conversation" with America.

Let's review:

John McCain joined liberals in enthusiastically promoting amnesty for illegal immigrants.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing the Bush tax cuts.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting criminal trials for terrorists.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting stem-cell research on aborted fetuses.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting crackpot global warming legislation.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting Social Security credit for illegal aliens.

John McCain joined liberals in promoting free speech-crushing campaign-finance laws.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing a marriage amendment to the Constitution.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing waterboarding terrorists.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing energy exploration in Alaska.

John McCain has repeatedly joined liberals in trashing Christians.

John McCain joined liberals in opposing a gay-marriage ban.

John McCain attempted to join liberals in Election 2004, as John Kerry's running mate.

John McCain joined liberals in making excuses for keeping abortion on-demand legal.

We refuse to participate in, accept, or even acknowledge any national movement attempting to market the Republican Party to America with John McCain or anyone like him in any part of its leadership. We've had enough of this disastrous Ford-Dole-McCain approach of apologizing for what we stand for. We demand actual leaders with real ideas, like Ronald Reagan.
