Government-Run Health Care is Not the Answer

To:  President Barack Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

Most of the 50 million "uninsured" in America are either people who opted out (the young and the rich), or people who were only briefly uninsured, or illegal immigrants who shouldn't even have health insurance. This is largely a phony, manufactured crisis.

The system doesn't work well and needs to be fixed, but "rescuing" us from the right to choose, and from the quality and access of high-tech, free market health care is not the answer.

-We don't want rationed health care.

-We don't want long waits.

-We don't want mountains of red tape.

-We don't want higher mortality rates like European countries.

-And we don't want doctors to come out of college with six-figure debt, already facing insane malpractice insurance costs and then also having to deal with non-competitive wages.

It's a recipe for disaster, and it has failed everywhere it has been tried.

If you want to improve health care in this country, simplify the tax code or try actually doing something about frivolous lawsuits.
