Resign, Ma Ying-jeou. |
To: Taipei City CouncilDue to a blatant dereliction of responsibility for not providing attention to adequate security measures during Taiwan National Day ceremonies on October 10, 2006 -- we the signatories of this petition demand the resignation of Mayor Ma Ying-Jeou.
We feel the complete breach of security protocol for these events leading to the disruption of the official ceremonies and the violent harrassment of foreign dignitaries en route to the event demands accountability. The lack of control during this event sets a dangerous precedent for future public events of this nature. Considering the assassination attempt of the President of Taiwan in 2004, we -- the signed -- feel that this continuing disregard for security measures most noticably at this event is completely negligent and contradicts the responsibilities of the Mayor of such an important city.
It is the responsibility of the Mayor to enforce public protest regulations -- and to continue to ignore this enforcement is unacceptable.
Sincerely,
The Resign, Ma Ying-jeou. Petition to Taipei City Council was created by and written by John Tsai (newsclipautopsy@hotmail.com).
