Respect the Irish "No": stop ratification of the Lisbon Treaty |
To: the member states of the European UnionRespect the Irish "No": stop ratification of the Lisbon Treaty.
For the Lisbon Treaty to come into force, it would have needed unanimous ratification by every member state of the European Union.
As the Irish people have clearly said "no" in their referendum, and as there is no point in having a referendum if referendums were organised until the desired result is achieved, there can only be one conclusion to be made:
The ratification process in the EU member states that have not already approved the Treaty has to stop immediately, as the Lisbon Treaty can not be ratified legally any more.Sincerely,
