Save the Rascal House

To:  Jerry's Famous Deli. INC

We, the Undersigned, request that Jerry's Famous Deli. INC (Mr. Ike Starkman and Mr. Jason Starkman), reconsider the impending closing and planned demolition of Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House, of Sunny Isles, Fla a beloved delicatessen and American institution.

We feel that the loss of Rascal House would be detrimental to the character of Miami Beach, the Jewish delicatessen community, and the reputation of Jerry's Famous Deli as a brand. We fully understand that the business opportunity to develop the property where Rascal House currently sits is highly lucrative, and realize your right to use the property to your liking. However, the plan to put in a mixed use facility containing a Jerry's Famous Deli and an Epicure store is disagreeable to us.

Recognizing that development will likely go ahead, we strongly request that Rascal House be rebuilt in some capacity within the development instead of Jerry's Famous Deli. The original recipes and decor can be placed into a renovated space, preserving a piece of the community and history.
